Serenity

SerenityI painted this painting as a sort of sister painting to "Seraphim" (see below) they are both the same size and colour scheme, and each one faces toward the other so the works complimented each other. I was originally going to exhibit them both at the OSFA Exhibition but then I decided to swap this one for a painting by Oamaru artist Natasha Shackleton. Her painting is the same size as this, it is one of her Moonlight Bay series which is funky and vibrant. I am very pleased with my swap! I have decided to collect a group of paintings of this same size to hang together on my wall. I chose the name "Serenity" for this one because her face is calm and peaceful and the word has the same angelic feel as Seraphim. In a way I feel quite sad now that they were separated as they would have probably suited being sold as a pair.
